EA AgencyRoad transport currently accounts for around a quarter of the UK's greenhouse gas emissions and this figure is rising. Biofuels can play a part in reducing emissions., restricting production of biofuels to those grown following best practice and the development of newer advanced (second generation) biofuels all support the case for continuing to carefully develop biofuels for transport.
Why recycle
- Less waste goes to landfill
- Reduse co2 emissions as oil is used locally
- Less greenhouse gasses emitted as its used as fuel.
Free collection of used oil (wvo or uco)
I collect used cooking oil or waste vegetable oil as its also known and
use it as fuel in my vehicle.
This means that a waste product that would have been put in a landfill
can be recyled again.
This is a free service for the collection of used vegetable oils. I issue
waste transfer notices as per Enviromental Agency and local Councir requirements.
what is biodiesel?
Biodiesel
refers to a vegetable oil or animal fat-based diesel fuel consisting of
long-chain alkyl (methyl, propyl or ethyl) esters. Biodiesel is typically
made by chemically reacting lipids (e.g., vegetable oil, animal fat (tallow))
with an alcohol.
Biodiesel is meant to be used in standard diesel engines and is thus
distinct from the vegetable and waste oils used to fuel converted diesel
engines. Biodiesel can be used alone, or blended with petrodiesel.
